Hi, I'm Tobias.
I expand my own and other people's perception and imagination through music, writing, art mediation, facilitation and coaching.
While you look around I suggest listening to "Mother of Millions" for the most direct sonic expression of who I am.
Art
My artistic body of work ranges from algorithmic composition and electronic music to free improvisation, from music theater performance to sound installations, concept pieces, writing.
My current musical fascination is in creating novel theory and tools for microrhythm. On a longer time scale, I feel I'm in an in-between state, holding space for a new phase of my work to reveal itself.
Teaching
My teaching and art mediation experience ranges from university levels to primary school. I occasionally lead the Composer Circle, a weekly online coaching group for people who want to get real about finding and doing their thing and supporting each other along the way. I have taught ">Composing with Max, weekly online seminars on algorithmic compositional strategies for musicians at all levels.
Art mediation and facilitation
I do music mediation for Musikfestival Bern, where I have initiated «The Listeners» among many other projects. I have ongoing working relationships with institutions and ensembles such as the Swiss Chamber Music Festival, Zuhören Schweiz, Camerata Bern and others.
I lead and facilitate workshops, conversations and group experiences on a diverse range of artistic subjects in a variety of contexts.
